Summertime at its best, early morning calmness spent outdoors enjoying the quiet. Many people enjoy fishing, but probably don't realize that every time they go out its a tremendous learning experience. Just like education the conditions are constantly changing. No two days out on a lake (or in a classroom) are the same. The thing I was really focusing on this morning was how we ask questions and emulate other fishermen who are catching fish. We had only caught a few small Bass and another fisherman came along side our boat. We had noticed him catching and releasing many fish. He shared his lure choice and the depth he was fishing freely. This exchange made me think of how teachers can be very willing to share expertise with others. We must be open to exploring how those who meet with success do so. Otherwise we will be stuck using that same old lure and not catching anything!
