How PvP Supports Inquiry Learning in #minecraftedu

If you are using Minecraft EDU with your students chances are you have Player Vs. Player (PvP) disabled. I recently came accross the following video published by +Colin Gallagher on his minechat show that challenged my entire paradigm on this central Minecraft EDU setting.

Using Inquiry

The video is rather long (26 minutes) but totally worth watching the whole way through. What struck me was the intentional use of inquiry with the decision to enable PvP. Hearing from Colin's guest about the thought process where students arrive at the central idea (centered around organization of society) is fascinating. This video is highly recommended for anyone using Minecraft in schools, although PvP probably isn't generally accepted in our schools society without lots of consideration and discussion.
